Primaries next week: New York and Pennsylvania
Primaries over the weekend:
Dem Rep
Wy. Sanders
Co Sanders Cruz *Without
citizens voting.
Saturday Colorado had their Democratic primary and Sanders
won. However, the Republican primary was held without the citizens voting at
all. The citizens are not happy. Is understood.
I watch parents all the time working in a Deli. I often
wonder why they couldn’t just bring their pit bull to the store instead of the
kids. Their kids are often unruly and just wild. These same parents will get
the call from their kid’s school and find out their kid is in trouble for
bullying. They do not look at themselves. They are just disciplining their
kids. The problem is that they are hitting their kids and bullying their kids
into behaving the way they want them to. But of course, their parenting cannot
possible be the reason their kid just hit another student.
Kids often mirror what they see at home. This scares the
shit out of me. For this simple reason that if kids see their parents on
welfare and doing nothing with their lives. Guess what? The kids will repeat
this pattern. This is why we have multiple generations of people on welfare.
Here are some thoughts of parenting I would like to share:
First, only morons hit their kids. I am not against spanking
as a last resort. Absolute last. However, slapping a kid on the back of their
head is unnecessary. Telling them to shut up and being disrespectful only
brings the same pattern later on in their teens. Maybe the kids who hit their
parents was hit by their parents when they were small kids. They taught their
kids to be bullies and then act surprised when their kids behave like bullies.
Second, every child is potential for greatness. I do not
care about the color of their skin. A child is potential for greatness. They
just someone in their life to believe in them and tell them everyday. Kids
should be nurtured at home, not bullied.
Third and final, set expectations. I have always set
expectations for my daughter that are reasonable. Like all parents, I had high
hopes for Antonia, Ivy League schools like Yale or Oxford. Then I came down to
earth and realized that may not be her path. Just the way it is. Some kids are
bound to Ivy League schools and some are not.
Consequences should always be fair. They always be adequate
with the age of the child. I have found limiting her internet use and
television watching to what I approve and/or I want to watch. A weekend of
this, she is about begging for forgiveness. The consequence is fair, effective,
and I get my point across.
Until later Anarchy and Revolution.
