Today while I was driving to Aldi's, I asked my daughter a question which I didn't expect an answer to. I certainly didn't expect the one I got.
The question was "What to hell is wrong with people?" Her response took me by surprise. "Do you want the whole list?" was her response. Okay, remember she is only 15 and she already knows there is a laundry list of stuff that is generally wrong with people. As shocking as it was to hear this from a 15-year-old, the fact is she is right.
What does this say about our society in America? Not a lot. Or at least nothing good. We are on every medication to keep them calm, to the point that we comply with everything our government says is Patriotic nevermind the fact they are listing returning Veterans as potential "terrorist" threat. Seriously? A Veteran is a threat if they speak out against the government. They are a threat if they demand what is rightfully theirs.
Anyway, when a kid of 15 knows there is something seriously wrong with society and the people in it. Yes, this is awfully young to catch on the government scams and it tells me I have down my job in teaching her to question everything at every turn when the government is involved. I am happy about this.
We all should be questioning the activities of our government. Nothing good comes about when governments go unchallenged. Stalin went unchallenged and look at the destruction he left behind him.
