First Apple Pie

I can't believe that at 47 I made my first apple pie from scratch. From the filling to the crust. The crust is from my The Homestyle Amish Kitchen Cookbook.  And the filling is out of Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving. I will provide the links to the books and so you guys can see the pie itself on my Instagram.

Who Gets To Run For Office?

  Have you ever wondered why some people in America are eligible to run for an office like the Senate or President, but others who might be more qualified are not ? I have been wondering about this. Let’s first examine the cost of running for a national office. Before we get started, let's look at what the base cost was to run for an office in 1915, right before the Federal Reserve was established.  The Senate seat was $2k up to but not exceeding $10k.  Presidential $5k to $10k. You see the difference. The average American could afford to run before the Federal Reserve was established.  The most expensive state: Texas is hands down the most expensive state.
