Chapter 27 Panama: Another Presidential Death

In early 1981, Ecuador's President Jamie Roldo was murdered. In the Summer of 1981, General and President Omar Torrijos were murdered as well. What did these men have in common besides being Hispanic? They both stood up for the poor and forgotten. They openly criticized The American Corportacy. They were hated. Violently hated! There were many folks at both funerals. While it still hasn't been proven how Washington DC was involved. These men had enemies in powerful positions in companies like ERON.  References (n.d.). WWII: What is true evil?

I have spent the last two weeks of Sarge's recovery caring for him and watching documentaries about the Nazis in Germany from the 1930s and 1940s. I am by no means saying what they became wasn't evil. Never! In this video, I want to question who was truly evil. Who took it to another level no one ever thought possible? Spoiler alert: it wasn't just the top-ranking nazis. So who was the most genuinely evil? Those who stood by and enabled them. Not just the German citizens who had to know something was genuinely horrible. You know those who lived near the camps and saw the waves of smoke coming out of the chimneys. They smelled the smoke and the awful smell of burning bodies. Said nothing. No one ever said no. No one said this is wrong. Governments across Europe had to know something awful was happening in Germany. It wasn't until they could no longer hide what was happening did they say a word when it was convenient for them to manipulate the masses into going to war a...

The New Confessions Of An Economic Hit Man by John Perkins Chapter 26: Ecuador's Presidential Death

This chapter opens with John submitting his resignation. His new boss Paul Priddy refused to believe him. It was hard to believe it took a while, but Paul eventually accepted his resignation. Thus started John's new job as an expert witness between MAIN and angry clients threatening to drop MAIN if John was no part of the company.  John kept on top of events in Ecuador. Even though he was no longer involved in business affairs in Central America. I did enjoy John's comparison of Carter and Reagan. I was just a child when Carter was president. And I vaguely remember my parents talking about having to choose between these two for president. That was the year my late father voted for Donald Duck. Seriously! I get it now. John described Carter as ineffective as a politician. However, he was true to his beliefs and truly wanted to move America away from being dependent on oil companies. Reagan went into office and removed solar panels. Reagan was the puppet bankers and corporatio...

1950’s Portion Sizes and Lifestyle

This video will be looking at the 1950s portion sizes and overall lifestyle. Here’s what I found, they were busy. Not by today’s standard of busy. Dad goes to work, kiddies go to school, and mom cleans and preps the house for the family’s return. Mom didn’t just set around waiting for the motivation to clean. NO! She had a set list and a set amount of time.  Meal Planning.. This was done each week or month just whichever worked best for the family.  Inventory. Mom always knew what was in the cabinets and what was on sale which could be added to a meal.  Cook at home. Mom always cooked at home. Rarely was dinner out. That was a treat. Even when they did, it was the proper portion, not like today.  Clean. Mom cleaned every day. Sweeping/mopping, vacuuming, and dusting. Until the kiddies were old enough to have chores then her load got a bit lighter. Especially during the summer.  Outside activities. During the summer mom was busy with the kiddies once chore...

I Quit

In this chapter, John goes to the Virgin Islands and really looks himself in the face. He realizes that if he continues at MAIN he'll be no different than the slave traders. How? John finally realized what the effects of his actions had on poorer populations of countries he talked into taking unplayable loans from the IMF (International Monetary Fund). Think of a loan shark in Gucci suits. The reality of what he had done for a living became real. He couldn't sugar coat it anymore.  After John returned to Boston from vacation, he officially resigned. This is where part III ends.  https://youtu.be/F2V5NNS5d8M

Ecuador's President Battles Big Oil

This chapter starts out with John in Ecuador again. In Ecuador, John and his Ex-wife Ann spent the first couple of years of their marriage. While there John meets Jamie Roldo. Senior Roldo would become Ecuador's thirty-third President. He was president from 1979 to 1981. Jamie Roldo was known for not being afraid to lock horns with big oil companies from America. Also, Roldo stood up to the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL), an evangelical missionary group. They were rumored to have collaborated with oil companies.  After Roldo won a fair democratic election, John decided it was time for major changes in his life. One significant change came after MAIN CEO fired Bruno John's mentor. https://youtu.be/1JjhblRHKGE
