We have seen a lot of tragedy over the last month. The fact is there's a lot of history between them. The history is a bloody one steeped in anger and vengeance. There doesn't seem to be an end to the mayhem. As much as the world would like to think it's a matter of encouraging a cease-fire and hope for the best, that simply won't stop it. When you have one nation allowed to openly oppress another and there are absolutely no consequences for their greed and bloodthirst, why should they stop?
To fully understand why we are still seeing such bloodshed in Gaza, we have to go back several years. We have to go back to the end of WWI when the Balfour Declaration was written. In 1917, Lord Balfour wrote this Declaration which directed those with money to buy up as much land in what we know as Israel, which was then Palestine. Let's talk about the origins of Israel. Originally God was pleased with a pious man named Jacob whom God named Jacob Israel. Then there was a country named after him to honor Jacob. Here's where things get confusing. Yes, God promised Israel to the Jews in the Old Testament. Where this was in the Middle East is yet to be proven. For all we know, Israel in the Old Testament could have been in Africa. We have no real archeological evidence that what we know today is the same Israel promised to the Jews of the Old Testament.
In the New Testament, the Jewish citizens of Israel became so unholy that they offended God once again in the same way as they did in the Old Testament that God kicked them out and took Israel away from them once again. This brings us to now. Growing up I was brainwashed to believe Israel was the Holy Land promised to Jews. Don't ever question their actions. If you do, you're anti-Semitic. If you disagree with anything the government of Israel does you're a horrible person. You hate Jews and have no empathy for the Holocaust survivors. Yeah! That's the level of brainwashing that the Baby Boomer generation structured to be taught in churches. And on television.
Keep in mind, that my generation didn't have alternative news sources. There was no internet and two hundred channels to pay for and barely watched. Our choices were radio, TV, or printed paper. Even then the news was slanted to certain opinions so we had certain opinions. There was the two-party bullshit. That hasn't changed. But it was the same companies that owned the radio stations, TV stations, and printed papers. We were told the evil Palestinian people were throwing stones at Israeli troops armed with guns. Yeah! First of all, a gun will take out more people than a stone will. Second, if your troops are afraid of having stones thrown at them, you have bigger problems than evil Palestinians armed with slingshots and stones.
This brings us to now. In October, we saw another war against Palestinian people in Gaza begin again. What's different now from the past wars? It has come out recently that there are natural resources under the Gaza Strip. I am talking about oil. Yeah! America has one of the greediest governments on earth. It's not happy stealing from Iraq and Syria. NO! They need more countries to steal from. Russia wasn't having the absolute theft they knew the American Corporatocracy Government did. We already did this in Iran up till the late 1970s. Now it's Gaza's turn.
My guess is the governments across the West knew the oil was there, they just didn't need it at the time. Now that Saudi Arabia has hit their peak, America needs oil sources. We screwed over Iran, Venezuela, and everyone else at every turn. Now, they won't deal with us. Palestine, particularly the Gaza Strip, has oil and not much of a military.
