January Meal Planning

 How is your January Meal Planning going? Are you going complicated? Are you keeping it simple? Comfort Food? Yes or no? Or are you going according to the weather? 


I ask these last questions because we here in Southeast Michigan are at whopping single-digit temps. Yeah! Finally, we got snow last week. And we are expecting more this week at some point. Yep! Winter is finally here. Here’s my strategy for meal planning:


  1. What is here is here. What does that mean? Simple. I have an abundance of spices so I am looking at how to utilize them with a boat load of cookbooks. 


  1. Freezer and Pantry Cooking. Again, go back to what is here is here. If we really want to try a new item fine. If we like it then we keep it on hand. Right now, I know we have fried rice in the fridge ready to be used with Hosin Chicken to go with it. Plus I have Khao Mok Gai (Thai Turmeric Chicken Rice) chicken ready to be used with rice soaking in water. 


  1. We also have frozen and fresh veggies for soups because it is currently 2 outside. As I said it is winter. Soup and baking season is here. Why? The oven will help heat your home or just the bottom floor.

Who is Ahmed al-Sharaa?

  Ahmed was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Wait! What was that???? Born in Saudi Arabia…. How the hell did he get to be president of Syria? A country that he isn’t even a citizen of? That is as insane as Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announcing he is going to be the president of America. Actually, I would welcome that. Since he is obviously smarter than any American Political puppet. At least we would be able to have our Christian values protected. There wouldn’t be an abortion clinic on every city block. And the sexualization of children would come to a dead stop. Veterans would be better cared for under Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. However, that will never happen, but I think you get how insane that is. I found that you have to be a natural-born citizen of Syria to be president of Syria.  Ahmed al-Sharaa was a member of Al Qaeda. You remember the pack of terrorists who attacked us on 9/11/. My question is, why is Al-Qaeda allowed to exist if they were involved in 9/11? ...

Feeling Ignored

  I didn't mean to ignore this site. I have been busy with the government shutdown, and I have to say, what a freak show. Let's break this down: 1. There is a budget. Once it's clear that we won't tolerate the freak show any longer, the budget will be put in front of us. Of course, it won't have an accurate date. The date it was actually signed.  2. What are we currently focused on? The shutdown. We are looking at the fact that Israel is attacking Iran, again, for having the very same thing they have: nuclear weapons. We also have nuclear weapons in America. We also have a nasty habit of using weapons of mass destruction. Dioxin was used in Vietnam; it was later called Agent Orange.  3. We are no longer demanding the release of the Epstein and Maxwell files. Of course, by the end of October, I am sure this will be in the headline again because one of the other party will bring it up.  4. Prices. The lamestream media isn't talking about the real prices.
