Last night after her driving class Antonia let me know that she's not ready for the responsibility with driving. Also, she wants to wait until she is eighteen. Here is what happened. Last night the instructor was showing films on drunk driving. I had been inside and I saw one of them. However, I went outside to talk with a lady I worked at Kroger's with. Her granddaughter is also doing the class. We sat out in her vehicle talking until about ten minutes before the class let out. I had no idea how graphic the last film was. Antonia got into the car and started talking about the film. It was awful and I don't know why they showed it. Well, I didn't at that moment. I do now that I've had time to think about the reasoning. I have truly enjoyed this process. So far I have canned chicken, mangos, Mango Butter, and potatoes. We had a jar of the potatoes last night for dinner. They were fantastic. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought they'd been baked. They were that good. Here is what I have learned so far: 1. Don't be afraid of the pressure canner. First of all, let's understand something up front. The pressure cookers we get can't reach the temperature that a pressure canner can reach. I love my Instant Pot Pressure cooker. I know I can use it to cook foods to be packed up and put in the canner. 2. You have to take the time to understand how the rating of acidity works. Ball Blue Books are an excellent source of information. They break everything down and explain so it's easy to understand. 3. Talk to people who have been canning for years if possible. Alright, here we go again. China is considering building nukes. Which can only mean one thing, she already has one or two laying around. I use to go to summer camp as a kid. The issue of gender never once came up. If you are a girl you go to the girl's cabin and if you are a boy you go to the boy's cabin. There was no asking what you identified as. First of all, these were church-affiliated camps, Southern Baptist.  Never was I asked if I feel like I am a boy today or a Pomeranian. I have said before that my number one concern is that one of these kids are going to transition just to realize what a mistake they made. We saw last month a story about the Wal-Mart in Brownsville Texas serving as a detention center for illegal Mexican Immigrants. Let's get it clear, Trump didn't build these centers. Growing up in America we were conservative. Even after the disaster is known as the 60's counterculture.  The cities were shit and still are. For crying out loud, San Francisco has a poop map. Tuesday night in Columbus Ohio Stormy was arrested for what amounts to an inappropriate touching guest.  According to the law in Ohio, it is illegal for any nude person to touch guest unless the guest is family. Today was the first day of my daughter's driving school. I can't believe that baby I brought home 15 years ago is starting to prepare to drive. I am not so much concern about rather or not she is ready for the responsibility, rather I am concerned about the other drivers. People don't drive like they use to when I was learning to drive about thirty years ago. We didn't have cell phones and parents were allowed to hold their teens accountable. Now people are so self-centered and they don't care about the other drivers around them. This worries me. However, in the state of Michigan kids have to go through a process with graduated licenses. They have to drive so many hours before they get each section. I am happy about that. The curfew is 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. They can drive to and from work or school events. This should be the status quo across the country.

Everywhere we look everyone is singing Trump's praise blindly. The man who said "America First" promise has proven to be Isreal first. Yet no one wants to admit that. I have been slightly busy the last few days. I did a video a few weeks ago about living with the consequences of weapons of mass destruction. I have Hypothyroidism and I know there is something off with the levels. I am sure if I am getting too much or not enough. I suspect too much. I say that because when I don't get enough my hair falls out, my nails get brittle, and I am tired. Then we have the weight gain. Having too much is the opposite. I'm tired and short on energy. I have canned two items so far and I would consider the first to be a home run. Watermelon Rind Pickles. Yeah! The white stuff we avoid eating is what this recipe is about using and it is the bomb . They are sweet, but not too sweet. They are perfect. I grew up in the South and had these all summer long. The second was chicken. Okay, the only thing I would consider changing about this is the texture of the chicken. Next time I will shred the chicken before canning it. I may do a raw pack. Otherwise, it was sealed perfectly. However, I did forget to put the vinegar in the water to keep the jar clear. We will use the chicken in goulash, chili, and pasta sauce. My next project will be mangos. I have been looking for recipes for mango jam and butter. I think I have a recipe for the butter. I am also going to put mango in jars with light syrup.  After that will be corn.
