Chapter four is clarification on how to get to the path of righteousness. It's not through seeking material goods or money...
Money won't get you in front of the Father in Heaven and His Holy Son Jesus Christ. Being on the path of righteousness is a journey not so much as a destination. Yes, our destination is heaven. But you can only get there by living as Christ did. Being service to others and showing kindness to others. Not hoarding goods and currencies.
We can't turn on the television without seeing about a hundred or so ads for stuff we don't really need or we could get cheaper at a thrift store. I got an e-mail last week from Boost to get a new phone with low monthly payments. I don't need a new phone because mine does everything I need and it's only a year old. So no, I won't be getting a phone when I don't need one. When it stops working, then yeah, we will be replacing them.
People who are constantly chasing the "newest thing" are always chasing things. Rather ist's the newest house, car, boat, or even pool. Yes, there are those who change pools in their backyards like we change socks. I don't know them personally because I avoid insanely stupid people. The issue is, people who chase material goods will never be fulfilled.
