After WW I, the soldiers who served under the “selective service” were promised compensation from the back wages they would have earned had they not been chosen for “selective service”. The stipulation was they wouldn’t get anything until 1941. Congress and Senate signed this bill betting that the soldiers would not be alive then. Therefore, nothing would be paid out. Do see where I am going here? They signed a bill they had NO intent of keeping to.
There has been a great deal of resistance to SB 16. Rightfully so. This is our right to bear arms as we see fit. It also violates our fourth amendment right to protect and secure our home to our satisfaction. Here is my concern. Y’all are going to go to the capital of Virginia and there will be a repeat of the Bonus Army. I am by no means saying not to protest. That also is our constitutional right in the first amendment. To have our grievance heard by our representatives. Except they aren’t actually our representatives anymore. They represent an elite class that’s not us.
