Three Year Canning Anniversary

 I am so excited. Never in my life did I think I would be able to water bath can, never mind pressure canning. For most of my life, I was terrified of pressure cookers. I had no idea there were pressure canners. I owe this to my Insta Pot. It's a pressure cooker. It helped me conquer that fear. For my three-year anniversary, I am going to review basic safety, and I will share books that have helped me through the canning process. 


Over the three years, I have gained a level of confidence in my ability to put food on the table no matter what. Canning, especially pressure canning, is a much-needed skill. It requires organizational skills, time management skills. If you don't have these right now, don't sweat it. You will develop them. You will also develop research skills that you may not have had before. The personal enrichment.


The person I have to thank for this journey is Heather Cohn at The Kneady Homesteader. She has inspired so many people to do things from gardening, raising livestock, cooking from scratch, baking and canning. I certainly hope y'all will start a canning journey of your own. Who is Ahmed al-Sharaa?

  Ahmed was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Wait! What was that???? Born in Saudi Arabia…. How the hell did he get to be president of Syria? A country that he isn’t even a citizen of? That is as insane as Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announcing he is going to be the president of America. Actually, I would welcome that. Since he is obviously smarter than any American Political puppet. At least we would be able to have our Christian values protected. There wouldn’t be an abortion clinic on every city block. And the sexualization of children would come to a dead stop. Veterans would be better cared for under Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. However, that will never happen, but I think you get how insane that is. I found that you have to be a natural-born citizen of Syria to be president of Syria.  Ahmed al-Sharaa was a member of Al Qaeda. You remember the pack of terrorists who attacked us on 9/11/. Feeling Ignored

  I didn't mean to ignore this site. I have been busy with the government shutdown, and I have to say, what a freak show. Let's break this down: 1. There is a budget. Once it's clear that we won't tolerate the freak show any longer, the budget will be put in front of us. Of course, it won't have an accurate date. The date it was actually signed.  2. What are we currently focused on? The shutdown. We are looking at the fact that Israel is attacking Iran, again, for having the very same thing they have: nuclear weapons. We also have nuclear weapons in America. We also have a nasty habit of using weapons of mass destruction. Dioxin was used in Vietnam; it was later called Agent Orange.  3. We are no longer demanding the release of the Epstein and Maxwell files. Of course, by the end of October, I am sure this will be in the headline again because one of the other party will bring it up.  4. Prices. The lamestream media isn't talking about the real prices.
