In this chapter John meets a friend of Yamin who tells John how "democratic" the Shah really is. "Doc" (not the man's real name) told John about how he had once been a part of the thriving Elite circle in Tehran. He had met Eisenhower and Nixon. He helped the American Government put the Shah on the throne after deposing Shah's dad. I have to be honest, like John up to this point I had no idea that Iran would cut off someone's nose for political dissenting. I knew about Saudi cutting off hand(s) of thieves. Doc had been tortured to the point he was in a wheelchair now.
I didn't mean to ignore this site. I have been busy with the government shutdown, and I have to say, what a freak show. Let's break this down: 1. There is a budget. What are we currently focused on? The shutdown. We are looking at the fact that Israel is attacking Iran, again, for having the very same thing they have: nuclear weapons. We also have nuclear weapons in America. We also have a nasty habit of using weapons of mass destruction. Dioxin was used in Vietnam; it was later called Agent Orange. 3. We are no longer demanding the release of the Epstein and Maxwell files.
