A Generation of Thin Skinned People

We live in a society of thin-skinned people. I am sometimes amazed at how easily people are offended. You can't even compliment someone without a reaction.

There has been a major gutting of people. Metaphorically. One word and they need a safe space. You can't criticize anyone without someone crying bully. Yet they live in one of the biggest bully nations on earth, America. The government bullies everyone in the country and outside of the country.

I am 46 and my generation you were bullied periodically and then the bully moved to the next target. Which means you got a break... We didn't take a gun to school because there were these people called parents. Yeah, they held you responsible for your actions. Or lack of action.

Through this, I developed a thick skin. Envision skin like cast iron and that's what I have. With a spine to match. Here is the thing about bullies in a schoolyard, they have a short attention span and they usually aren't the smartest kid in the class. Or they were that kid who had parents with high strong personalities and this is what is expected of them. It's what they see at home. There are exceptions though. There are these kids are being abused at home and they just need to get help. Bullying is the only way they feel like the can get attention. Afterall, negative attention is better than no attention.

So, what about Y'all? Anyone with these experience? Share and let's learn together.

War Is A Racket

This is an excellent quick read. If you don’t have ADHD, it’s a quick read. I started this book before Thanksgiving so between the holidays and every day crazy train I finally finished it. Of course, I made notes in each chapter about my thoughts. We’ll see if this helped compared to the chapter-by-chapter review we did on The New Confessions Of An Economic Hit Man by John Perkins.  Throughout the book, General Butler covers the ins and outs of war. He looks at the financial cost and the human cost. He starts out by explaining how the military-industrial complex was formed. Which I do think is critical. Most people in America don’t understand what the military-industrial complex is. Never mind how it is used. I am not going into detail here just read The New Confessions Of An Economic Hit Man. You will understand the order in which things unfold. The minority of Americans know who profits from war and who doesn’t. General Butler covers that as well. You will notice I said ‘m...

Remembering Chernobyl

Who is Ahmed al-Sharaa?

Ahmed was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Wait! What was that???? Born in Saudi Arabia…. How the hell did he get to be president of Syria? A country that he isn’t even a citizen of? That is as insane as Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announcing he is going to be the president of America. Actually, I would welcome that. Since he is obviously smarter than any American Political puppet. At least we would be able to have our Christian values protected. There wouldn’t be an abortion clinic on every city block. And the sexualization of children would come to a dead stop. Veterans would be better cared for under Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. However, that will never happen, but I think you get how insane that is. I found that you have to be a natural-born citizen of Syria to be president of Syria.  Ahmed al-Sharaa was a member of Al Qaeda. You remember the pack of terrorists who attacked us on 9/11/. My question is, why is Al-Qaeda allowed to exist if they were involved in 9/11? ...
