This is a subject that I have been looking at over the last couple of days. I would be lying if I said I wasn't interested. I have thought long and hard how far back would I go? Who would I want to talk to? Hendrix? Peter the Great?
I think if it were possible I would go back to meet Czar Alexi. The first Czar Alexi signed a document into place that would haunt Russia for generations. Notice I said generations, not years. Here is why the document he signed into place made servitude for life and it was hereditary. After generations of this people hit the point by the time that Czar Alexander II was in office, he dealt with the servitude document. He ended it. However, the landowners didn't sell their land very cheap. The loans from banks render the people into another form of servitude.
So the Russian peasants who were freed from the Kulags (wealthy landowners) just to be in servitude to the banks. Then by the time that Czar Alexander's grandson Nickolas II became Czar, the dynasty was on life support. The generations of servitude had taken its toll on the citizens. They were not going to take this much longer.
I would show Czar Alexi what his predecessors would face. And how the dynasty would be wiped out. Murdered in cold blood. All a result of the servitude document if he signs it. Who knows? Maybe it would change history forever. Perhaps, the revolution wouldn't even be necessary. Of course, it's possible he would still sign that damn document.
What do you think? Would you want to time travel? What timeline would you want to visit? Past or present?
