New Light on Russian Rap

Over the last week, there was an issue with the rap industry in Russia. Some of the artists were getting their gigs canceled.

I remember the spread of rap here in America all too well. It was terrible. I get they were writing about life in the hood. Their experiences were different from my own. I get that. I grew up in a predominately white town. We didn't even have mixed race couples. That was considered taboo. No black person in their right mind would be seen in the town I grew up in after dark.

All these guys talked about drugs, sex, and violence. Sometimes it was all three in the same sentence. They wrote about domestic violence. If the Russian rappers are as bad as the American ones are then I can understand why people want to ban this nonsense. However, that isn't the way to do this. As President Putin put, "Fight the drug culture, not the youth culture." He's right. We need to fight the crazy drug culture and the governments which make a living exporting the drugs.

Think Mena Arkansas. And the shameful operation the CIA did during the Vietnam war, the CIA agents would put drugs in the coffins of dead soldiers. No these bastards have no shame.
