I have to wonder if those in government positions thought out what sanctions would mean. Ukraine has been the bread basket for years. The situation between Russia and Ukraine is going to affect beyond their borders.
This area if the world supplies the world the majority of wheat for flour. Rather it's all-purpose, self-rising, and bread flour. Almost forgot cake flour. It all comes from the Ukrainian bread basket. Ok! For the most they supply the wheat.
The article talks about Russian intervention into Ukraine's affairs. The famine that was caused. I am not saying this will be repeated. This time it'll be world wide, not just Ukraine. Food prices are going through the roof. They are only going up. As long as we are willing to buy as we bitch and moan about rising prices they will continue to go up. Once the cheapest loaf of bread goes to a dollar I am going to start making it.
Right now I'll pay $.99. Once that loaf hits a buck. I am out. It's not just the situation between Russia and Ukraine we need to worry about affecting the price of food, but global climate change.
