I have given this a lot of thought. And here's what I've come to. Reasons NATO/US are terrified to go against Russia in a war.
Nuclear weapons program. Russia has as many if not more nukes as we do. More importantly, is that they have maintained their ability to use them if needed.
They have hypersonic missiles. They could launch a missile from Cuba and it would be in DC before they knew what happened. Seriously! We've been at war for over twenty years in one way or another.
Russians are used to hardships. Those who are in their late forties and up remember what life was like during the Soviet Union and after it supposedly collapsed in the 1990s, know how to survive. These are the people who are in the top ranks of Russia's military. They are the ones running the boot camps or basic training camps. They are the ones producing soldiers there. That's why the Russian military is a hell of a lot tougher than ours is. We don't train soldiers like my late father was trained. These men were men. Even up to the 1990s our military had high requirements for men. Russia never deviated from this type of training.
With that, the last thing I think scares the hell out of NATO/US about a war with Russia is patience. Russians have a level of patience when dealing with a foe that Americans don't have anymore. Something does go our way and we throw a fight. Russians step back, assess and reformulate their plans.
I started this post a few days ago. Since then we have seen NATO desperately courting Sweden and Finland for membership. Yet no membership is being offered to Ukraine. They are the ones who desperately wanted it. NATO! They can’t even get a membership in the EU. So what do you think?
