I was recently asked why I can and why I am starting to prep?
My response was simple; for everything. Financial collapse, government breakdown, societal breakdown, and even WW III. There was a time when we Americans could handle anything that rolled our way. Then the worst happened. Great Depression. People about lost their minds. The poor knew how to survive. It was little bit harder. Otherwise, just another day in the trenches.
Flash forward 80 plus years, we panic if we run out of toilet paper. A missed nail appointment is the end of the world. What are these folks going to do when we can't use the internet if the cell phones are no good anymore, or if gas is so expensive that we have to sell our cars. Or if the insurance rates go so high we can't afford them?
Me! I am selling the car because I like to eat. I live close to a city transportation system so that won't be a problem. I have had to live without a car before. The difference is I live in a town now. And I have a utility cart which works excellently.
We have to know what we could live without in an SHTF situation. For me, it's a car. I don't have long nails, they just get in the way. I keep my hair so it touches my shoulders and I can still tie it back when I am cooking or cleaning. Or doing my new passion, canning.
So what could you live without in an SHTF situation? Take inventory and share with your spouse.
