‘We Had Everything But Money’

This story spoke to me because it carried the lessons my late father taught me. Don’t judge a book by its cover and your character isn’t built by your money. Money comes and goes, your character and your word are your true value. 
For the next six weeks, we will review a story from each chapter that really speaks to me. I hope you will pick up this book if you don’t already have it. It’s worth the money or time to check it out at your local library.

Reality Check

Who Gets To Run For Office?

  Have you ever wondered why some people in America are eligible to run for an office like the Senate or President, but others who might be more qualified are not ? I have been wondering about this. Let’s first examine the cost of running for a national office. Before we get started, let's look at what the base cost was to run for an office in 1915, right before the Federal Reserve was established.  The Senate seat was $2k up to but not exceeding $10k.  Presidential $5k to $10k.
