This isn’t the usual Thursday video. I do feel like it’s important enough to do today instead of tomorrow. Why? It’s going to become a common thing. Keep in mind the shortages we are now seeing were starting in late Fall and early Winter. They were and are still the result of a piss poor harvest in 2019. And 2020 isn’t looking much better. We were already looking at a questionable harvest this year, but now that Trump is limited to the visas of the people who were the ones doing the work, farmers don’t know how they are going to get crops in. Maybe they will have to hire Americans or let people help in exchange for food.
It was so strange going into Kroger and seeing the Meat department displays empty. Like buzzards flew through. Nothing! Not even in the manger’s deals. Butter was ravaged. Empty rice shelves. The only instant Ramen was Shrimp. The expensive stuff was left behind. I do expect the organic craze to die out as it cost too much. As we walked through Kroger there were a lot of organic food lines on the shelves.
