Last week Senator Sanders made a speech about guaranteed full-time employment with benefits. Of course, people at FOX Business acted like it was the most horrible thing they had ever heard. Let's look at what he was talking about...
Imagine everyone who wanted a full-time job in their field of expertise would have it. They would have insurance, paid leave, and maternity leave. The USSR used to give moms a paid leave of six months. We barely get six weeks. You could retire at 65 and enjoy life with your grandkids.
The drawback would be very little if anyone reliant on the welfare system. Okay, I know that Russia required everyone to work. Is that really a bad thing... Everyone who could work would be required to. I don't see that as a drawback when you consider that everyone would be guaranteed a job making $15 dollars an hour. The reward is that people would be able to pay rent or mortgage, electric, internet, and go out on the weekend. Right now they can't do that. The most important benefit to me is that everyone would be housed and feed.
I am aware that Bernie Sanders claims to be a Democratic Socialist. I am 46 and I have seen this capitalist system reward greed, and/or limitless ambition. The consequences have become the highest rate of homelessness in forty years and a growing number of families on welfare just to eat. Those who can't qualify for this assistance are at risk of hunger. So are their kids. Is the system we want?
I am going to do a video on my YouTube channel Anarchy Land about the impending doom of capitalism and the possibility of users having to adapt to a socialist system.
